I am immensely grateful for any instant that I am conscious of this ability to witness this intricate and dynamic web of forms, color, movement, stillness, destruction, creation, thoughts and feelings that we call existence
Nature brings this realization again and again to the forefront of my mind
All the animals, insects, plants, rocks, and all forms of earth, fire, air, and water, they are inseparable from our human being
We are one because we cannot exist without them
Yet, only we can know and think of the existence of them all
Using a camera inspires me to seek and witness these miracles of existence
Most importantly is being there
There is planning, there is seeking, there is watching, there is waiting, and there's always at least a bit of the rabbit's luck
When everything comes together and reveals a moment of magic
Sometimes, the moment is so awesome, I nearly forget to press the button
Because I feel fully present
I feel lucky to be here
I realize that the long chain of events cycling through joy and suffering, ease and struggle, those in my lifeline and those in the billions of years before me, all connect to and lead up to this place
To this moment
In that fraction of a second it takes to open and close the shutter, I'm trying to capture a taste of this experience
A memento for myself and for sharing with other humans being
Those who understand
What it means to be alive and conscious
To open the eyes and the mind
And let the universe flow in
To watch the dance of light and darkness under the sun and moon
To witness an instant that will never happen the same way again
And be grateful that we are here to see it now
The Rabbit Dreams of Reality
